K&N Air Filter servicing

Hi, all - anybody have any suggestions for servicing a K&N air filter? I have one that has been in my 03 for a couple of years and never been serviced. Not sure what they need in the way of care since they call themselves "permanent". How do you clean them or ???

What flstffxe said 'cause it can cause problems with your MAF sensor.
