We were in corral canyon, I believe its called (off of Buckman Springs off ramp of the 8)

We weren't really doing anything hard (we got stuck on the tree because we were idiots), was the first time out in the wagoneer and its pretty much stock. We now know it can't really do steep, muddy hills...not as is anyways...

the 22r solids are easy to come by. The RE solids were only '84 like he said.

I've got teh IFS which works out well for me because I only use the truck for moving large objects around in the city and getting up to the ski slopes. Chicks dig it when you take the top off too

um, nope. 84-85 were the years for REs. and only runners in 84 were REs. 90% of trucks in 85 were REs.
also, the last year for solid front axle (in the states) was 85.

again, 85 is the more common year to find a RE. i still perfer the R with a carb and some carb mods to keep it running at angles.

i also got a IFS, but will be doing a SAS on it.

Wheels. And axles.

Actually a lot further along though I've hardly touched it since I took that picture, lost the place I was building it in and so haven't done much.

CJ7 frame (nearly perfect), YJ tub, engine/tranny from Chevy S Blazer.

Currently sits with original CJ axles (hope to switch to either CJ Wide Trac's or full width D44's), has engine/tranny/xfer case installed, body on frame. As I have time I'm putzing about putting the wiring harness in as well as under dash components. Hope to have it move under its own power this decade.

Usually people go to opposite way with a YJ frame since they are stronger. Seems like it would be a fun build though.
