Default ewg in cross pipe?

Any downside to this? I would think it would be as controversal as what side of the i/c piping to put your bov.

So your whloe exhaust system is pressurized so would it really make a difference having it between the r/h and l/h banks. Just think you could just get a crossover pipe with a ewg on it. Any fabricators/tuner willing to test this idea?

I dont know if this really belongs in the built thread but it will get the most exposure here.

yeah, it's bad. you'll only be venting exhaust pulses from the 2&4 bank, upsetting cylinder balance.

DONT DO THIS... not only is pressure imbalance horrible but it wouldn't even regulate your boost that well since its only controlling 50% of the pressure hitting the turbo.

The whole manifold is pressurized though, and all the ewg does is release this so the the turbo doesnt overspeed. Id like to see some actual testing to see if it works.

No one has tested it cause its just a bad idea. All the EWG for our cars have been on the uppipe. Your creating an imbalance of pressure on the 2 banks and pressure likes to equal itself in a confined space. some of the exhaust after the EWG opens would backflow into that bank.

Heres a thread I started that might answer some of your questions.

Tomei uses a ewg at the merge collecter on their twinscroll header on the arise car. I know its after both banks its just an idea.
