Nu finish car polish

Has anyone used nu finish car polish or scratch remover on their subaru? like all of you i have watched the finish on my car get destroyed, and I want something that can fill in some of the swirl marks, and bring out the shine a little bit. my car is only a lease, so i dont want to take the time to buff the whole car and then wax. I am looking for a one step product that will bring back the finish as much as possible. any suggestions???????????

Those write-ups will answer most (if not all) of your questions. If you want a real fix to your problem, fillers are not the answer. Once corrected, it will take some effort and diligence on your end to maintain the finish from that point on. ....a change in wash habits, tools, products, etc.

Btw, you may also want to consider enlisting the services of a professional detailer. Once the initial hard work is done, all you have to worry about is properly maintaining it.

this is what i am going to do... i dont think i could polish everything out, but i can keep wax on and wash properly

....check around the regional forum. There may be fellow locals who can give you recommendations on a good detailer in your area. .....they may be members themselves and/or give discounts. Also, I know in my area I sometimes see detailers, PDR techs, etc. offereng discounted services to members at special meets. .....just throwing it out there. Hope this helps.

you might want to do a search here on nufinish as it's been discussed a few times before, but the short version is nufinish is a decent, cheap, quick, & easy polish. there are better polishes out there, and there are worse, but for the $$$, it's good enough for me.

i think meguairs nxt tech wax is going to be hard to beat if you want a 1 step wax/cleaner that has some swirl hiding properties. best of all it is cheap and a lot of places sell it.

it isnt going to remove any swirls or correct flaws in the paint but it will clean and wax in 1 step. it does also seem to "hide" swirls a little better than most waxes and sealants i have used. keep in mind that if you have a dark colored car waxing can amplify the amount of swirls you see just because more light is reflected off of the paint.

nxt wax is hard to beat for an all in one product.

i personally would look at hiring a detailer to buff out the swirls and wax/seal the car. your results will be better (hopefully) than a 1 step product and it may actually be cheaper than buying all the products needed to do a detail yourself.

Love this stuff as well when Im in a hurry and I want my car to look nice.

+2 on the NXT wax. It's more expensive than regular wax products, but it's easy to find (WalMart sells it), easy to apply and remove, practically no dust during removal, and gives a great shine.

I would say it depends on the condition of the car you are working on. NXT scratch hiding abilities are not that great. I would say for the same work that goes into applying NXT doing the detail I just did washings aside is just as much labor.

The only product I have to "apply" was prime strong which is a much better paint cleaner and swirl/scratch fixer than NXT. Also, mixed in is a light wax booster and sealant. Sure the price point is higher but why not spend a little more for a much better product with loads more of durability. Once you apply the primestrong, just spray some Opti-seal on there or Acrylic Jett Trigger wipe off, and then spray a coat of Duragloss Aquawax and wipe off.

This combo would last at least 3-5x times longer than NXT and shine would have a lot more depth.

Some might argue product are more expensive. Well lets take Opti-seal, at 25 dollars a dime size application will do one or two panels. So in one bottle you get about 20-40 car applications. When you break it down like that it is a bargain buy. Also, Optiseal is a wipe on walk away product and Aquawax being a spray on wipe off product.

Plus, I don't understand the available everywhere issue. Just order on Monday and you will have it for the weekend to clean up your car.

I didn't mean for this to come off harsh or anything. I just want people to know of other options that are better.

....Optiseal is a "wipe on & walk away" product (no wiping or buffing is necessary if applied properly).
