Default anyone know how to work on mercedes?

my dad has an 05 sl 500
problem one: no matter the tire pressure, the TPMS warning goes off.

problem two: no matter the oil level, the "engine oil level tool high" warning goes off.

i have notes from the mechanics at mercedes for review, but the after market warranty doesn't cover either problem. if anyone would like to make some money on the side an knows how to work on said car, send me a pm or text me at 480-495-9137.

Check the spare, as dumb as it sounds. My TPMS was driving me crazy for so long, and it was the freaking spare.

^^This. My friends mercedes did the same thing. As for the oil light, he never had that problem but he had a bunch of other lights that had to be fixed over the life of that car.

the oil light is the sensor, we just need someone that knows how to change it. and if t is the spare we need to plug in the system again because our last mechanic unplugged it thinking that would disable it, s now the message reads "plug yo **** back in, foo!"

Did you get new tires in the last bit? Those TPMS tend to get KIA when they hit them installing the new tires. Most crack and work for a bit ... Then fail.. So there is a scan tool that can scan from a foot away that can tell you what sensor is bad. I'd check into getting that done.

Discount tire rebuilds the TPMS monitors for free, or so they say. I know that Lexus' had a bunch of problems with the spare, and you can take it to the dealership and they will disable just the spare tire TPMS. See if Mercedes is the same.

mercedes will charge you to look at the car. technically the owner is responsible for tpms light. its not a item thats covered by warranty (unless the sensor itself is faulty). Subaru wanted me to charge people that came in with tpms light on. I never did but i hear that chevy does.

remember, if your low fuel light goes on, do u take it to the dealership to get fixed?

well you would if the fuel light was on and there was a fresh squeezed full tank of gas.. This seems to be a hardware problem.. not just a low fluid or air problem. Figures on older german cars
