Default HELP!!!!! P0325 Knock sensor on my Legacy 2.5

Hi all.

My car has been running like CRAP for the past week ever since i got the CEL for a knock sensor P0325. I've tried using a higher octane (91) gas to see if that was the problem but the car still bogs when i go WOT from a complete stop or on cruise. Any advice on what else i need to do/look at before actually replacing the KS? And how much work is involved in replacing it.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated

PO325 means the sensor is toast. I tried the same thing with the Forester, clearing the code only to return. Replaced the sensor, problem solved.

It is located near/under the throttle body on top of the motor. If you search you should be able to find a pic. Easy install, just don't tighten the bolt too much on the new one, the specs are light (around 10-11 lbs. I think) and you will smash the sensitive plate... You will also need a socket extension to reach it.

Ya, if you find the throttle cable on the driver side and look down from there you'll see it. It's a 12mm bolt. The torque spec is 17.4+/=2.2 ft. lbs and they want it mounted 45 degrees from the center line of the engine. The +/=2.2 is a safe overtorque amount. Basically it means 17.4-19.6 would be fine. Make sure the mounting surface is clean.
