Exclamation Ford Taurus SHO

Today, Luis raced my friend with a Taurus SHO. Are the auto. wrxs that much slower? Luis lost by like 1-2 car lengths
and seemed as if he'd never catch up to the SHO.
When I raced the SHO a while back, I had a car length lead on him when i beat him.

It was from a 10 MPH rolling start and when they both took off the SHO got the lead instantly. Maybe from a dead stop Luis can take him.

Those SHOs are faster than they look

Yes, the auto is a little slower but should still beat the SHO. What kind of launch did he do? He needs to learn how to launch the auto instead of just stomping on the gas.

Are you skered or you cant drive You should of took the SHO like 2 car lengths and still pulling on him, auto is too slow i drove luises car he dont know how to launch it. He asked me if he shound put it in N rev it up and drop it to D, I LOL then told hell no. I'll take you to walmart at the fish section and get somthing for 5 bucks, the thing i showed you, then mike you should race him. LOL... Like an automatic takes much skill to drive... Launching an auto is 10 times easier then launching a 5psd.

I just raced my cousins 04 WRX wagon and from a highway start from ~ 75-110 we were dead even after that we went to just about 125 and he had a half car on me. Only downside is he had 2 other people in the car and I only had myself. Amazing what almost a 700LB curb weight difference will do

Im sure he will host the video in a couple of days.

Why dig it up when you could start your own?

lol. didn't even notice how old it was til you said something.

yes, those T-Sho's are pretty fast. few years ago i almost bought a red one. good thing i didn't or I'd have my license taken away! lol

yesterday however, an A4 1.8T and a Dakota (i think it must have been a V8 since I don't think the V6 is that fast) raced me down the highway from Wasilla to Peters Creek. Luckily no cops on the road or anyone else as it was like 3:30pm in the afternoon. man, the LGT hauls some ass! beat the A4 but only by a little. the LGT made 120 look slow! lol. the Dakota stayed with us but was a good 3-4 car lengths behind. so much for breaking in the engine. lol. anyone know the specs on the A4 1.8T?

they're sleeper cars, Super High Output is what the SHO stands for.

The first generation weighed in at 3380lbs curb, came with a 3.0L V6 and put down 220hp @ 6200RPM with 200lb/ft of torque at 4800RPM. oh, they were manual transmission too with a final drive of 3.74 and a first gear of 3.21 good till redline (which puts you at 44mph in first gear).

that's 2401.08 lb/ft of torque after gear reduction in first gear.

the last generation (so far 1999 and up) comes in at 3440lbs curb, built with a stocky 3.4L DOHC V8 engine and a 4 speed auto. power is 235hp @ 6100rpm and 230lb/ft at 4800rpm with a redline at 6800 rpm. CR is 10:1 and they run on 91 octane.

Oh, tires are P255/55ZRx16's in the latest generation. Z's are good for someodd 180mph+ IIRC.

The car can do 145mph+

sleeper indeed, but I'd never own one; they still break like a ford - rapidly and without warning.

1st generation was '89-'91, 2nd gen was '92-'95, and 3rd gen was '96-'99 They were discontinued after '99. 1st gen SHOs were 5-speed only, 2nd gen offered an optional auto (auto came with a slightly larger engine IIRC), and 3rd gen was auto only with the 3.4 V8.
