Sister 06 Legacy Stolen in Sandy....and found 3 days later

So one morning a few days ago my sister goes downstairs to warm up car prior to leaving for work on Monday morning. She goes back upstairs to her apartment (which is right above the car) to get her son ready and come back down. Same as everyday. Then she sees her white Legacy drive off, WTF?!!! So she calls the cops and they just say they will alert the officers in the area, she's like they went down this road...come on people do something. So anyway fwd to last night. Cops call and say they pulled over her car on 8700 S. State, with a woman driving and they have arrested her. So she goes down to inspect the car. The car had different license plates, apparently this is the 6th Subaru in a week they have gotten with wrong plates but from a different suby.

And to top it off the car had drugs in it, Meth was more than likely smoked in it, and the k-9 was going bezerk, so the cop tells her to take the car to a shop to have the interior dismantled. Because the k9 wanted to tear apart the dash. Oh thats nice found your meth car here ya go....

I hate meth heads

so, don't start your car and let it run while you are getting ready?

That sucks Ivan, aclever1 has a similar story with his Nissan, stole right out of his garage, while they were home.

damn that sucks!! makes me that much more happy that I have a garage, although sometimes I do open the garage to warm up the wrx and go back inside to finish getting ready, so maybe I should stop doing that now! haha

well hopefully they put it all back together for your sister! without costing her anything!

I have a second key. I put it in leave it running and then lock it. If they are going to steal it they'll be damn cold if they do.

That sucks. I hope the car is OK.

Yeah my wifes car was stolen out of the garage while we were home. She was smart enough to leave her keys in it since she thought is was safe in the garage. So they broke in the back door to the garage and tried to steal the radio and then realized the keys were in it so they just opened the garage and drove it a way. My dogs didn't even bark. They found it the next day at a house the police had been watching that they thought might be a chop shop. The guy that stole the car just got out of prison 3 days before for grand theft.

Yeah seriously, slc is a nice place, but it's not leave your car running and unlocked nice. Hope she learned her lesson.

1.) She's blonde
2.) Common sense is lacking with this one....
3.) #2 has a lot to do with # 1....

After she told me what happened I was like, "duh", thats why you take the key fab after starting the car and lock the doors....but oh well, if we lived in a perfect world we wouldn't have this problem. Actually I remember where I grew up in Washington we would leave the cars running while grocery shopping when it was like -20 outside so the car would start, and nobody stole a car....good ol' city life....

Unfortunately my key is stuck in the ignition of my 95 legacy so i cant lock the doors cus i only have one key. So the other day I was at a friends house and come back to my car to drive away and the radio was stolen. I found it very amusing that they didn't take the entire car with the key being in it and all. haha dumbass thief.
