Default ECU swap compatibility 96 subaru L impreza 2.2 OBD2

i have a 1996 subaru L impreza 2.2 and i fried the ecu. it is an 3F (the big letters/numbers) A18-000 D12 (blue plug)

I can take a pic if need be. i have been looking for this ecu and cant find one, so is there any other ecu that will work on my car. I have looked at the legacy or outback 2.2 the numbers down mach but the plugs do, i guess what im asking, is there a list of ecu that will work with my car?

please dont ask how i know my ecu is fryed if you really would like to know please take a look at this link you will will see that its the only thing left...

Most likely any 95~98 obd2 2.2 ecu will work. I think the 2.2 changed to phase 2 in 99 so im unsure if that ECU would be the same.

The Legacy went to OBD2 in 95 btw

96-98 EJ22 ECU should work for you. The wiring (pin outs) all work out to be the same.
