Hey there fellas!
Well, after over 5 hours at the dealership and many dreadful happenings (all my fault), I am now the proud new owner of Irvine Subaru's last RS coupe. It is a silver 1999, great condition, and I love it. It is bone stock, except for a few aftermarket what-nots.
It has a Borla exhaust (I think that is the brand- it sounds great too!), and a gauge hood with Auto-meter gauges. One of them is an air-fuel sensor, and the lights constantly fly around the gauge. Is this normal? It doesn't look right. And at night, when it is lit up, it is kinda annoying. Should the needle stay in the same place most of the time, or should it be going crazy like it does?
Anyhoo, I love it. I got it just in time (some other chap was trying to finance it, and I guess his credit didn't go through or something)..and Tor Johnson was the best. He definitely knows what the hell he is talking about and hooked me up for a G under asking price. And Desiree helped me with some creative financing when the old credit card took a dump. So thanks to all at Irvine Subie...and now onto mods!
The first things I need (of course) are clear bumper lenses and side markers. And the old orange vent has to go too (would black spray paint suffice?). And then painted sideskirts (where to get these cheap?) are on the platter. Then maybe a CAI, etc....
Sorry to ramble, but I am sure you guys felt the same way when you got yours. And I saw hella RS's around Irvine Subie too. A crazy ass Blue one with twin exhaust (like a 500cc motorcycle)--and a mean rumble. Also saw a black one with Morettes and tight anthracite rims....
So I am glad to finally be a true member of the club....might have to change my handle now...anyone want to buy an old Porsche?
And when is the next San Diego meeting?
Went by the Q today and happened to see Herbie with his Silver WRX and gold wheels...loks great!

Hmmmm.... That blue one sounds familiar.

Did it, by chance, have a 22B wing on it? (basically, a really big freaking wing) And numerous stickers? If it is who I think it is, then I'm going to have to call me up my turbo guy and get a ride now that it's on the street again!
