Sorry I didnt IM ya, but need to kind of get this out to you and maybe anyong else that might have a idea.

First do you still have that Vag-Tool that you were borrowing? I had to send mine back. And wouldnt you know, after I send it back I start having issues. Drove my car today running just like normal. Hop in to go out tonight and my car wont start, I mean nothing, not turning over, not clicking. Of course I first thought my battery was dead but all my lights were working fine. I did try to jump it but nothing different.

So are you all tied up tommrow? I THINK I still have your cell.

Sorry man, i gave the tool back. Did you try unhooking the battery and let the ECU reset? i would try that, also your battery could be going bad, we had this problem with the TDI. It would run all the lights. but the battery didn't have the amps to turn the motor. Just a thought. You can have the battery tested at Sears for nothing.

Alright I will probably take the battery out and go to sears tommrorw. And I took the whole ECU out and tried my "stock" chip and nothing. When you had the problem with the TDi, would it make a noise when you tried to crank it? Or would it not do anything? I tried to Jump it to and nothing at all.

You put the clutch down when you tried to start it, right?

Obviously a spark is not getting to your motor. The battery works fine if all your lights c'mon and don't eventually die, so there's something in between like the starter/distributor that's not responding to the ignition. Perhaps a blown fuse has wiped some systems out? Check your spark plug wires and connections, distributor, etc.

Not really sure what it could be, or wether the fuses would even prevent your car from starting, but it's worth a check. I blew a fuse once in my GTI and it wiped out my power windows, locks, sunroof and truck opening system in one fell swoop. Simple fix. Hope you find out what's wrong and it's not expensive.

OT: Where'd you find the 3M IHG in town? I've always ordered mine online and been forced to wait the 4 days or so it takes to get here. It'd be nice to save that time.

Yeh I dont think it is the Battery Either. But I just want to tottally rule it out. Trying to do all I can right now before I either take it to Eero (lol, Ya right, if I do that I wont have my car back in time for the Import Drags), or go by Lee's Adivce and try Artic Import Center. At this point I really dont care if I have to pay for the job, unless it is $$$$$$$$$$$.

Ok, when you unlock the car with your remote, do you hear the fuel injection primer go off? It's a "whhhhhhrrrr" sound, along with the clunking sounds of the locks. If you don't hear that, something can be wrong with that too. Though, if it was a fuel problem, you should still hear the clicking/turnover sounds. You did check all the fuses right?

The only other thing I can think of is the starter solenoid. Going to have to start working down the chain, beginning with the starter to the spark plugs.

I actully just did replace the spark plugs about a week ago. But if it was the Spark Plugs wouldnt it it still at least try to fire? I think it might be the Starter Soliniod too, but that is kind of beyond me. I like farting around with my car and installing stuff. But when it comes to real mechanic work, most of the time I am clueless, ok maybe not clueless, maybe it is more Timid.

So when you turn the key to crank it over, there is absolutely nothing that happens? No sounds at all?

I could not really tell from the posts above, do your lights and stuff come on?

Well good luck, and let me know if I can help man.

Yeh dude, nothing happens at all. The lights and everything works like normal, just when I turn it over nothing happens.

It is down at Eero now. So everyone pray to the Car-Gods with me tonight and hopfully it is a quick and easy fix I hope to get my car back, get the AVC-R and get it installed and get the rest of my Exhaust Done all by this Saturday.

Yeh last week Winslow and I were talking about putting in the AVC-R over at his place. I found a walkthrough the other day and it seems really straight forward. But first got to get the car moving
