I am fairly new here. Do any of the members get together for any tours?

I don't mean Sunday afternoon cruises , more like spirited drives on challenging roads with lots of twistys. Eg. Duffy Lake road. Day or weekend trips?

Are there any club organized rallies on unpaved roads for beginners? Mission DE Track Days?

PS... my forum name is probably obvious, 4 day old 2010 STI and I hit a deer outside of Princeton.(i usually have deer whistles on my other rides but didnít have time to pick them up ) $7,000 damage and beautifully repaired by Cosmos Auto Care. Kudos and recommendations for them.

www.rallybc.com, look under TSD rallies, those are amazing, lots of fun, and plenty, and I mean, plenty of driving.

Ah why thank you

As for spirited drives, we used to do that kind of thing every now and then. However we have had a couple unfortunate "incidents". Nobody has really bothered to organize an official twisty cruise in quite some time.

Some people prefer to keep the club very low profile and essentially frown upon any unnecessary usage of the accelerator pedal. I personally dont understand this but i wont get into it.

anyways if you want to get a spirited drive organized id suggest you make a thread inviting people to PM you if they are interested and PM them back with a date/time/place. either that or PM a moderator and ask if its cool to just make a big thread with all the info in it.

OP, best thing to do is go to a few meets and talk to a few guys in person. You'll find out who is into the same aspects of cars as you.

Makes it easier to find a good crew for some fun drivin

Deer Killer, come out to the Timmy's meet tonight if you can. There we can discuss what your idea of 'spirited' driving is and see who is in. As for me, I'm game.

I would never do another "organized cruise" after the "incident" at a summer meet a few years ago.

Not a bit, those who were around know what I'm talking about and if you weren't I would hope you could guess, and if you can't guess then you are out of luck on this front sir.

I see no point for spirited drives. Especially group ones. Let see....

$180 for a trackday to drive as fast as you can in a controlled enviroment all day long. No poles, walls and definitely no DEER to hit, oil on the road etc

or

$460 excessive speeding ticket, maybe lose your license and car impounded. Better yet write off you $40k car while taking someone else out. (I know I'm being a bit extreme but it could happen and has happened) Seriously you can't really have fun in a STI without being at least double the speed limit anyways.

Not even about the money.... but can't imagine having my license suspended for 3months like some of the people I know have. Besides... after you've been on the track you have no urge at all to go even over the speed limit on the streets. If you are serious about hitting some lapping days there are a bunch of guys on the board that go regularly.
