Default Prosport oil pressure gauge reads 25psi higher

So ever since installing my Prosport oil pressure gauge, I always wondered why it said my oil pressure was so high. Rarely do you hear about high oil pressure issues. My Prosport gauge would read 58psi at warm idle, and always pegged at 120psi at anything above 2000 RPM. To make sure the gauge was reading correct/incorrect, I picked up a mechanical oil pressure gauge that screwed right into my sandwich adapter. Sure enough, at warm idle, the mechanical gauge is reading 35psi at warm idle, while my Prosport gauge is reading 58-60psi. That's 25psi difference.

I'm glad that rules out my thoughts of a high oil pressure problem...

Thoughts?

I am guessing it is either the calibration of the gauge or a faulty pressure sender. Do you have the performance series sender or the premium? In my previous car I went through 3 performance senders, but they were all for reading too low.

You should contact prosport and ask them about it. I've always had great service from them and they quickly replaced what I needed.

I just had a problem with my oil pressure gauge, mine was reading low or no oil pressure when I knew there was nothing wrong. I called talked to prosport and they sent me a new sensor and it fixed my problem. Maybe you could try the same?
