Default Another "Name that Sound" thread...

So as of yesterday, my 04 OBS started making this sound. It starts in first gear, and lasts between 0 and ~1k RPM. My uneducated thought was that it was my transmission (dear god I hope not) or maybe the power steering.

Here's the sound. Any thoughts?

Pilot or throwout bearing problems?

That is indeed a very odd noise.

Sounds like the radiator fans are trying to kick in but something's wrong. I dunno.

Oooo... that's a good candidate F91.

OP, check to see if you've got a broken fan blade or shroud or some form of foreign object in your radiator fans. Could also be a bad bearing there.
