Hey all.
I own a 1994 ('95 model in US) legacy RS with EJ20 twin-turbo engine. I got small problem - whenever it rains, the carpets in my boot (trunk) are wet - and because of humididyt theres unpleasant smell. Theres quite a bit of water getting there every time it rains. I was just wondering whether anyone else had that problem and fixed it - as tere are no visible sings of where it could be leaking. Help is greatly appreciates ![]() thanks in advance ![]() Matthew. |

I have a leak-free wagon, but try this:
Using an assistant that you trust, climb into the trunk, with flashlight/torch in hand, & have the assistant close the boot. With the assistant flooding the rear half of the car with a hose, look for leaks. This method is the only sure way of finding the leak(s). Paul |

"HELP, HELP!!! I cant Get out!!!"
If you have the option, you can put down your rear passenger seats and slide in from the interior to watch for water. /Mark Last edited by sovereignmk1; 07-01-2002 at 01:46 AM. |

If you don't see it coming in from the top (the boot), check the fender wells on both sides to see if maybe there is some intrusion coming in there. Spray up and inside your wheel wells with a hose, sort of like your wheels would throw up the water from the road, and then check the wells to see if water has gotten in.
Good luck! Br, Dale |

Cover the rubber seal with baby powder, gently close the boot and wash around the perimeter with a hose. If the seal leaks the powder will be gone. Could also be a bad rear glass seal or clogged rear sunroof drain tubes.
