The buzz was probably partially true.
There is a patch of land near Gainseville (between Gainesville and Ocala) that they rent out for auto and rallyx and rallies including tarmac rallies.
The problem is, it is pretty expensive. If we could get enough people together it would probably run us 20 bucks a person or so, but that would have to be around 100 cars.
There is also a South Carolina rally probably happening on Dec01 and 02. I think sandman's website has some details? Sand Hills? I will check with RenMaxi.

I believe the rally is located in the Hartsville area, but I don't remember. Its been awhile since I've seen the SCCA involved, but that doesn't mean the rally doesn't live on under another sanctioning body.

From what I know, the New York region was actually gathering people to go southeast.
Last I heard it was on for the weekend of Dec 01 and Dec 02.
I checked www.quattromotion.com
but there are no details there.
go to www.scca.org - click on ClubRally, go to the SouthEast region and click on the schedule. It is in Cheraw, SC. Go here: http://www.usrally.com/sediv/schedule.cfm

But this is an actual rally, guys.

Hell, at $20 a car I just might hold a rallycross at my farm. With the proceeds I might actually be able to sprig some damned Bermuda in the early Spring.

I am serious, the two biggest drawbacks are my wife and parents. I'm not sure how big of a facility we need to hold an event. I have three pastures that candidates. Of course, no rally tires will be allowed.

I probably need to run across them to see how rough they are and how badly we will tear them up. Another option is a three acre field, but it might be too small.

There a few trails in the woods, but the danger factor for them is too high. If you run a timed event, there is a chance of cleaning your clock on a tree.

I'll keep ya'll posted. It will be after the first hard frost too.
