Default HELP!!! Low Idle 05 Legacy 2.5i

So I have had my Legacy for about 3 years now and it has run fine up until about 6 months ago when the CEL came on. I took it to Autozone and they ran the computer and said the airflow sensor was out. I bought a new airflow sensor took it to a local car place and they replaced it. When I got it back from them, the idle was running way low and every time I come to a stop the idle chugs down almost to zero (doesn't stall but gets close) and then goes back up and continues the process until I start accelerating again. I have noticed that other year Subarus get the IACV gunked up and it can be helped by cleaning could this be my problem?

airflow sensor.

You mean front 02 sensor?

If so - did you get an OEM sensor or some aftermarket junker?

Do you have a CEL now?

IF SO - what is your CEL Code ?

the front O2 sensor is referred to as the air flow sensor/meter so yes it is an O2 sensor.

The CEL is not currently on as soon as the sensor was replaced it turned off. As far as what type of sensor I got it was one of the higher end OEM's not sure the part number but I shopped around.

your symptoms are spot on for a bad 02 Sensor

if you did not get the correct OEM part, it may just be failing again.

You should probably check your paperwork and make sure you have a genuine subaru part, not some aftermarket "equivalent".....

Are we talking the O2 sensor here? or the MAF Sensor?

I have a car ('05 Outback) that has the same symptom (super low idle), but doesn't surge...it just idles wicked low. So low I worry about the oil pressure! Anyway, clarification on the above would be cool. Thanks.
