Default Master thread of OEM Subaru Wheel Specs

I intend for this thread to be a comprehensive database of Subaru OEM (original equipment manufacturer) wheels. I'll give as much info as I can about each wheel, and a picture of each.

There is an older thread like this, but it looks like it's no longer maintained, and it never did have any images.

Please keep this thread to wheel specifications ONLY. Please do NOT ask or answer questions here about what wheels fit on what cars, or what's the best wheel for your car. Ask those in another thread, or start your own thread.

If you have solid information about any of these wheels, please post and I'll update the entries as needed. Ideally, I'd like to see wheel weights derived from an actual wheel sitting on a calibrated scale. (That means something like a shipping scale, not a home bathroom scale.) In the absence of that, we'll take what we can get.

All wheels are CAST aluminum unless otherwise noted. All are 56.1mm centerbore. (I don't plan to list Subaru SVX wheels here, but they are 57.1mm centerbore.)

Please feel free to post additional information here. I'll list everything back to the GC-chassis wheels if we can get all the info together.

I have a 2006 WRX sedan that came with these wheels and on one of the inside spokes on each wheel is: 17x7JJ55, which should mean these have a +55 offset? Yes?

Just weighed a rim today and my scale came back at 15 lbs even with wheel weights, tpms and valve stem. I'm going to verify this on a different scale thought.

Edited: weighed on a postal scale at 16lbs oz.

I am looking at a set of the 2002-2005 Impreza and WRX wheels that are on page-1 of this thread. Both are identical dimension-wise, except for the offset. The Impreza has a +55, while the WRX has a +53.

The stock steel wheels on my 95 Impreza wagon are +55 and I've chosen to use these now solely as my winter tire wheels. I will not swapping tires anymore, so looking at the wheels I mentioned above for my spring-fall tires.

Will the +53 wheels fit fine on my Impreza or should I stick with the +55? I can't see it being an issue, but wanted to check before I go after either wheel choice. Thanks!

I think the 2012 Impreza Sport Rim to weigh approx 21lbs. Not super accurate because it was weighed with the tire on. The total weight was 42lbs and the tire's weight I had on there is listed at 21lbs so I'm guessing that it should be around 21lbs.

Thanks, but from experience that's not going to give us a very accurate weight on the wheel. I'll wait until we get a bare wheel weighed.

I have used up all my image allowances in the initial posts, so I can't post any more wheels there until I combine some of the images, which takes time and work. (If anyone has the time and skills, I'd be grateful...)

Not trying to be argumentative here, but I thought I'd report my findings on the weight of these OB wheels. I don't know how much variance to expect from a long run of OEM wheels, but these wheels that came off my '06 OB weighed in at 23+lbs.(using a digital scale). Leaves lots of room for handling improvement with a lighter wheel selection.

If you still have the unmounted wheel, the best method for this is to stand on the scale, then pick up the wheel (while still on the scale), and subtract to find the wheel weight. Is this what you did?

Default Subaru Outback

I just bought a 2000 Outback and need some summer tires (only came with winter) and am also hoping for a 2nd set of rims so I can change them myself. I have two options at this point and am looking for some advice:

1) Head to the local wreckers and pick up 4 OEM 10-spoke 2000 legacy/outback rims (would have to be mismatched, 2 painted silver from another outback hatchback, and 2 painted gold from an outback sedan I think...)
2) Get some non-oem alloy rims ($300) offered by the local tire shop that will also mount the tires on.

I'm just wondering whether the newer alloy rims would be lighter and/or better quality? I could bargain but I don't think I'm saving much by going to the wrecker ($60/rim) and the cars have been in collisions which is why only two rims are salvageable from each. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
John

Buy the salvaged wheels, paint them (insert desired color here) and use them as winter wheels. Once you buy the tires the mounting and balance fee won't be too expensive, so just expect an extra $50 onto the price. You'll end up saving more and know you have a setup designed for the car.

That is to say if you know the wheels are straight after being in a wreck. Make sure to get them checked out.

Thanks,
John
This is not a questions thread. It's only a list of OEM wheel specs.
