I'm throwing the po420 code, most likely because of my borla headers probably throwing out the cat, so I'm in need of a good stock cat converter for a 02 2.5rs.

For whatever reason or another, it seems common (including my own car). The cat isnt always going bad. My car threw this even with a NEW 02 sensor and cat... it popped up twice on a 500 mile roadtrip (crusing at low RPM for long distances) after the fact that it was replaced , so perhaps its just a bug, at least among older subarus.

These will fix your P0420 for about $4. You can get the foulers at AutoZone.

Worth a try but far from guaranteed to work. You may also want to look into MIL Eliminator fixes though they are tough to find these days, might be worth a look. For junkyards, check Henry's in Blackstone (right next to Woonsocket) last time I was there they had multiple NA subies.

Would it fit? I was showing no codes at time of accident, and the engine compartment thru to the muffler was undamaged as far as I can see....
Plus it was running like a champ, so I don't know of any fuel , ignition, or exhaust problems.....

All the way up in Ottawa tho.......
