Default Blackstone oil sample question

So I was running short on time for an oil change and today was my only available day. It's raining so I had to go to an oil change place. I asked them to fill my sample bottle when they drained it and they only filled it halfway. :/

I am not sure if this is enough to send to Blackstone still. They said they need between 2.5-3 oz. to do all their tests. I don't know what half a sample bottle (the clear one w/ black lid) is equal to in ounces.

Anyone ever send half a bottle?

One bottle is 6 ounces I believe. If you want to continue doing uoa's and don't change your own oil, I would recommend investing in a sample pump. http://www.blackstone-labs.com/vacuum-pump.php
If you want to save money, try oil analyzers inc. in the future. The pump and the uoa's are cheaper. http://oaitesting.com/

I'll call them Monday (closed for the weekend?) before I send it out and see if half the bottle will be enough or not.

I plan on doing my own oil changes now that it's warm out so I shouldn't be a problem next time. And if I do have to have a place like that do it again and fill a sample I will make sure they full it up.

Thanks for the link for the other uoa place but I think I stick to Blackstone. I really like their company so far. Good customer service, pretty quick with results, personalized comments, knowledgeable, ect.

Blackstone is great. Just got a 6k mile Rotella T6 analysis done. Came back spotless. Going to keep 6k+ intervals now.

Yup, I just hope they can work with the little I have. If not I'll just have to wait another 3k or so.

Not to put the blame on the oil change center because I could have done it myself if I had more time. BUT, since when is "filling up" halfway? :/
Hope they didn't "fill up" my oil that way, lol.

They actually do pretty good oil changes there though. Really organized and always yelling to each other to confirm what they are doing.
Person 1: "preparing to drain!"
Person 2: "clear to drain"
Person 1: "draining oil!"
Ect, lol.
