Gretta - The Procomp Shop Car

Hey Everyone.

This thread will be about our shop car and my daily "Gretta". A 2006 STi. The basic idea of this car has always been a wolf in sheep's clothing. It's always been on stock ECU and retained that type of drivablity. Boasting a very quite EVO II exhaust, and a recirculating wastegate, she's always done a good job of staying below the radar as an unassuming Subaru. This year, we are tryin something that may be a little more challenging. We've upped the ante and replaced the PTE6262 with the new 6766. Along with this we built a stronger engine the handle the added power expected from this new set-up. The general plan is still the same though, full street car, daily driver, stock ECU, opensource tuning, and big power. This should be an interesting year for this car.

With 400 miles on the odometer since the new engine was installed we're about ready to get her on the dyno and see whats she's made of. Had a little incident this week where the car was hit in the back pretty good. Once the car is out the body shop we'll be on the dyno and at the track. Stay tuned for updates!

Figured I'd stop back in and give a few updates as to what's going on with the car. I can already see I'm in for an adventure this year. I've been running into a few snags. The good years of abuse with no breakages are coming back to haunt me.

The car as just over 1000miles on it and I started doing some WOT pulls to make a quick pump gas map before the E85 change up.

First we had some boost control issues which was tracked down to an excessive leak through the valve guide of my wastegate. Unfortunately that model was discontinued so it was replaced with a new MV-R model.

With that problem solved we started to hear a scary sound inside of the transmission. I just removed it and partially tore it down yesterday. I have the differential case off (where I suspected the noise to be coming from) and found nothing abnormal. With the trans pan off the magnet is covered with metal shavings. A futher teardown is in order.

Occasionally I can find time to work on my own car, so I'm hoping to have it back on the road next week sometime. Stay tuned!

i know about the RPF-1s but ...what wheels are those in the other pics.. i know they are oem for another car but i can't think of what. Info would be much appreciated

correct, they are OEM wheels from a corvette c5!

i knew those wheels looked familiar! im actually surprised they fit. considering how wide the rear wheels are on those things..
