Default Seat covers for 2012 impreza

Im not a big fan of the beige interior and constantly paranoid about getting it dirty since I transport a lot of stuff at times. Anyone bought seat covers for the rear seats? I don't need impreza specific covers, something black and generic works also. Looking for recommendations.

I covered my front buckets and rear bench with covers from Petsmart for my dog. They aren't fancy but protect well. And I can throw them in the washer when I need to.

The rear cover is one piece and fairly heavy. I haul all kinds of things for my job...even tires. The seat underneath looks unmolested thus far.

Thanks for that suggestion. Does the cover fit pretty snugly? Are they black?

I installed these:
Amazon.com: FH-PU007115 Deluxe Leatherette Car Seat Covers, Airbag compatible and Rear Split, Black color: AutomotiveAmazon.com: FH-PU007115 Deluxe Leatherette Car Seat Covers, Airbag compatible and Rear Split, Black color: Automotive

Pretty happy with them, fit well on the front, less snugly on the back but they work with the split folding seat and stay put. Got them to protect the seats from my 4 year-old and my dog. Here's some crappy iPhone pics:

How was installation? Was there any cutting or custom tailoring required to get them to fit?

Installation wasn't too bad; I took my time and it took about 2 hours. You have to cut holes (slits) for the rear headrests and rear seat lowering latches, but they're not visible once you tuck the seat cover material under the plastic trim around those parts. I took the rear seat bottom off so that I could pass the straps underneath for a better fit. I ended up stitching up one slit that I had cut because it wasn't lined up well with the rest of the holes; you can't even see it now unless you're looking for it.

They're not luxury seat covers by any means, but they look decent, feel nice, are easy to clean and protect the seats very well.

I have rear seat back protectors, wonder if it will make the installation that more difficult. Other than that it seems like a pretty easy install.

I have the seat back protectors (SBP) too. I fed the straps up from under the seat between the seat and the SBP, and out the holes in the back of the SBP, so the top of the seat cover overlaps the top of the SBP. Doesn't look the greatest when viewed from the hatch, but at least it keeps anything from getting in between the seat and the SBP. It would probably look better if you removed the SBP for the install, and then installed the SBP over top of the seat covers, but the bulk of the seat covers would probably create a bit of a gap between the seat and the SBP. [Edit: also the velcro at the top of the SBP would have nothing to stick to.]

For the front seats, how far down did you pull the cloth portion of the seat covers? Mine seems to cover most of the plastic trim on the bottom of the seats as well as the plastic seat adjustment levers.

Anybody tried some that were the canvas style? I try to avoid leather/leatherette/vinyl type of seat covers since I have not so fond memories of leather seats of my dad's Oldsmobile in New Orleans.

Default Tan Seat covers (not cloth) for Impreza.

Yeah, but I haven't found any that look like they will fit well with the 2012+ Impreza seats. Most of them are generic. The ones in the picture look like they fit pretty well. I wish someone would make some custom fit ones that are canvas and work with the seat based airbags pronto. My 4Runner got rear-ended, and I am down to one vehicle for outdoor activities. My wife liked the light tan interior, and now we are having to pay for it by trying to keep it clean.

Anybody notice the sport cloth seats start to fray after some use. Drivers side?

I have the Wet Okole on order for the front(cloth seats). Hiking driven need, and the black interior needs a bit of breaking up. IMHO Plus the black seems to show every bit of dirt worse than our previous beige interior car.

Its a long wait. I ordered direct from Wet Okole because the Amazon sources didn't list the 2012 Impreza specifically and I wasn't sure if it was the same as the 2011, which is all most of the sources list.

I've heard others complain about that, and when I got the car the material did look like it would fray easily, which is why I put seat covers on right away.

Yeah the cloth seems to be fraying and thinning itself out, especially the part that you swivel your bum on when you get in and out of the car. I think I'm going to get these

Yeah, I need to get some seat covers ASAP... at least the driver's seat. I only have 3800 miles on my car, but I enter and exit my car several times a day due to my job and the cheap seat fabric is not holding up so well. I really hate the idea of using some crappy looking, universal covers, but I guess it's better than nothing at this point. Thinking of going with
these.these.

I am debating wet okole for my 12 impreza sport. My wife is concerned they will be to hot in the Texas heat. Does anyone have experience with them in hot humid areas?

I was concerned about that also, although not nearly as much as you need to be, since I live in the northwest.

Consider that they are designed in/ for Hawaii. Which does seem to meet your criteria.

Still waiting for ours to give a first hand report.

Just ordered the same covers gfxguy has, but fronts only. I rarely have anyone or anything in the back so I'm not concerned about the rear. Hopefully they will stand up to the abuse of my fat a$$. Thinking of saving the passenger side cover to use as a back up for the driver's seat if it'll fit correctly.

My dealer is replacing the drivers side seat cover under warranty for excessive fraying.

Cool, but was there any indication from them that the new one would be more durable?

Nope, so they will replace them again within the 3/36. Had the same thing happen to my 10 outback and the replacement cover seems more durable. I have noticed the fabrics seem cheap and wear fast after you live with them a bit . I'm sure this is a area where they can save some cost. This goes for all models within Subaru. I'm just talking fabric not leather. My sons 3 year old Impreza has higher quality fabric on the seats than the 12 and the carpet on both cars is very very thin

How bad is your fraying? I'm wondering how bad it has to be before they replace it.
