OMGHi2U Spoon FT-86

illmatic mentioned it in the ginormous thread from this very forum but no one followed up on it. I think it deserves a bit more attention, if only to highlight the incongruity of a Honda tuning company building themselves an FT-86:

Spoon Toyota FT-86

More photos at the link. Through some Google sleuthing I figured out that the wheels on it are the Prodrive GC-012L. Forged monoblock, nice pieces of kitů

As would befit a Japanese company with a long Subaru heritage, there is a size that is very appropriate for the BRZ (click "For Japanese" text above the table), probably the one on the pictured Spoon car:

18 x 8", 5 x 100 mm, +45 mm "inset", available in British Silver or Flat Black:

Thanks! I've been wondering what 18x8 wheels would look like. The widths I've been seeing of 8.5+ have been overkill for me. Just seems so unnecessary given this car's characteristics.

And why are they still calling it the "FT-86"?

Also, it says "prodrive" right on the wheels in the close-up pic.

I could read that, too, but had to peruse Google Images before finding a model number.

Not quite so simple:

Prototypes: Toyota/Scion FT-86 +/- II Concept, Subaru BRZ Concept

Production model names per Wikipedia

Everywhere: Subaru BRZ
Japan/Australia: Toyota 86
North America: Scion FR-S
Everywhere else: Toyota GT-86
