cant think of the name right now but what do you use guys use to roll the ends of your pipes so your clamps have something to hold onto the pipe.

its a good idea to, i dont have a tool to do it so my car doesn't have them. Was running 20lbs with no issue. Also all comes down to how good of a fit the pipes are.

That second one reminds me of the cowboy rail clamps that we use at work

Thanks. I just go the budget route with the vice grips. I was just seeing if you guys did it any other cheap ways or even Did it at all.

We bead roll everything. It keeps those couplers tight at high boost levels. Using something similar to this:

I weld beads around the outside of the pipe. Not as clean and not quite as effective, but it's better than nothing. More for stopping the pipe sliding out of the coupler than sealing though.

I've looked at these... Earl's ez beaders.
http://www.jegs.com/p/Earls/Earls-EZ...40092/10002/-1 expensive if you have many different sizes but if you only need one size it wouldn't be terrible... Cheaper then getting a roller like above, but not modified visegrips cheap... video of use on gearz... kinda neat. |

this defiantely helps big time.. first kit i had didnt have this.. a couple times i had it blow off right at the throttle body... what a back fire. lol yea i thought my car blew up a couple times.. but needless to say next kit had this and not one issue... ive seen some high psi cars (non subarus... like turbo big blocks) they have this and also make metal brackets bolting the 2 meeting points of pipeing together to ensure they never ever come off or apart....

I try to bead everything but the tight radius pipe coming from the turbo to the fender was hard to get the bead roller I borrowed. I just used a alittle hair spray on that one and now I cant really get it off.

+1 for welding beads around pipe. Works great and hoses won't pop off. Welder is easier to get a hold of than a bead roller.

My boost pipes have always been rolled. I have known a few people that would blow a boost pipe mid cruise and would have to wait for them to get it back together. You dont wanna be that guy.
