Default What is the absolute minimum I need to use RomRaider?

I just need to clear a cel and force readiness. What is the cheapest way I can do this? Sorry for the noob question, I've just never cared much about tuning and have been searching with not so clear answers. Thanks for any help.

This is a 2000 rs with ver 7 engine. I'll be swapping to an 02 wrx ecu to pass inspections. This will throw a tgv code. I need to clear it and force readiness.

go to Advance Autoparts / NAPA / Autozone ... borrow their code reader ... read & clear codes.

Done/Free.

I need to force readiness. I can't drive the car as it's not registered and I can't renew registration until I have it inspected.

Would that even of work?

Thanks, I read those links previously. Is the tactrix cable the only one I can use? I thought I remember hearing about cheaper alternatives.

You need a tactrix and a jumper block, and a laptop. Then download ecu flash, download your stock rom, open it up and tick the box for force pass and then reload the rom back to your car.

Which tactrix cable is the cheapest that will still work?? Are there choices of jumper blocks?

I was able to log data with just a VAG-COM cable (~$8) and RomRaider (free). I think it should be enough to clear codes as well but I don't know that for sure. At that price though, it's worth a shot.
