Any HID kit brands you guys recommend?

HID kits in stock non HID housings are a bad idea. Look into HID retrofit kits.

Ddmtuning.com is pretty good. I have several kits of theirs, never had a problem with them. Getting them before subiefest is questionable though.

how much they charge you? I just called a shop today and they said $700 installed angel eyes and hids.

That's about what they charged me, along with LED turn signals and LED DRL,amber reflector delete,LED Angel Eyes(not CCFL), amber reflector delete,ballast and projectors.

I second TRS. You can do it yourself for a fraction of the cost. It took me about 7 hrs to complete my retrofit. Morimoto H1minis are your friend.

Another +1 for trs. If you have reflector headlights I probably wouldn't do it. But if you have projectors its well worth the money.

so i guess my 2012 subie.. is not worth retro fitting then? cause i have stock reflector headlights..

there is a guy who did it somewhere in lighting and electrical forum..
but it was buttload of work!

Not to be sexist or anything, but I'm pretty sure it's because she's a woman. Someone in a thread about NASIOC being full of a holes pointed out that when women ask previously asked questions they're just complimented and helped out
This is also true in this case, because I've seen many other newbies ask similarly clearly stated questions politely get their butts handed to them without provocation! Guys will be guys I suppose haha

That's very true, and the funny part is the main person doing most of the ass-handing (haha) is a certain mod that we all know. It's mostly all targeting n00bs. I tell you what, it's terrible forum management to harass newcomers because they are the ones that are going to be here years later, AND.. they are the ones that spend money at sponsor's business's. I'm a mod on a popular motorcycle forum and every day I'm baffled by the straight up rudeness on here. Rudeness that starts with the mods. These type of things just are not tolerated on my forum. A lot of subie owners are nerdy people, nerds shouldn't be rude. I guess it's just keyboard courage.

Its a little off metered by my tail lights but these are my morimoto d2s's switched on high beams without the actual high beams being plugged in. Hope this helps

+1 on ddm if your gonna go with a kit you can use with stock headlamp assy. but retrofits are always the way to go if you wanna be legit and legal.

Lightwerks or trs. Recommend going full retrofit to reduce glare to a minimal and you will be happier with the higher quality equipment and overall outcome
