Default 02WRX Upgrading turbo

OK so i am sure this is somewhere on here but i suck at finding things.. haha.. and i kinda wanted a couple opinions..

My EJ20 is being rebuilt (because of a spun bearing)it will have ACL race bearings, and seals and 11mm oil pump, the case is bored .20 over and Wisco forged piston, and its gonna have Pauter race rods or Scat rods. So i was told to have my turbo rebuilt as well.. but i guess somehow i just figured why not upgrade the turbo.. i have been told to look at the Forced Performance 68HTA, and the Blouch 18GXT-R or 20G-XT-R. I am just wanting something that will bolt on where i dont have to do alot of changes.. Not Really sure what way to go.. I have stock fuel pump and injectors and will not be upgrading these at this time.. i have 3" catless turbo back and catless uppipe. Any ideas would be much appreciated.. I have read a bunch about this but still not really sure what to do..

Sorry if something like this is already posted and i know i have bad spelling!

If you're not doing fuel pump/injectors/intercooler....just buy a cheap stock turbo with low miles. Cheaper then rebuilding current turbo and won't waste a bigger turbo's potential that you won't be able to get it's full performance out of without the supporting mods...

But if you are planning on getting all that in the future I guess it couldn't hurt to have a bigger turbo on there without that extra stuff....I'm just not really sure how it would do under boost. Basically for any turbo upgrade you need the supporting mods...from the way i understand it.

Upgrading the turbo without upgrading fuel pump/injectors/intercooler is a terrible idea. You will gain no benefit from it (over stage 2) and have a great possability of screwing yourself over.

Do what rymaster said, buy a cheap td04 and throw it on.

You do not want a 68hta EVER anyway. The other two options are easily capable of blowing up your engine.

Cheapest route, get a used vf39/48/52 along with walbri 255, STI pink injectors, sti intercooler, ebcs, tune. Should get you a very noticeable power upgrade, *shouldnt* blow your engine, and be pretty cheap ( easily under 2k).

Better would be 16gxtr, spearco tmic, 750cc injectors, walbro 255, ebcs and a tune. That's going to be significantly more expensive, but also a much better setup more power, more area of improvement when you get bored with the power, and a better powerband. Plus still capable of E85 if you want.
