This will be my tale of taking my 2008 Forester XT Sports from a pretty much stock car too a STI forester (in my eyes)
Mods that will be going into the car (as of right now 10/5) Motor: Built SB (balanced crank,balanced Manley rods, Manley pistons, King race bearing) JDM Twin scroll Header/up-pipe 18g billet wheel Twin Scroll turbo Walbro fuel pump Agency Power Fuel rails ARP Head studs 2011 STI TMIC SPT turbo heat shield (if it works over the TS setup) Kartboy Crank pulley Mishimoto Alum radiator (wrx/sti spec) Drivetrain/Brakes: 2007 STI 6 speed trans TiC Trans crossmember bushings 5x114 hubs (Completely rebuilt) ARP extended Studs STI axles (rebuilt) R180 (cleaned up) Kartboy/TIC shifter and all the bushings for the shift Kartboy Pitch Mount STI Brembos Calipers (Completely rebuilt) STI Master Cylinder and brake booster Clutch Slave w/ Dampener Valve Delete FXT frame spacer deletes Suspension: 2005 STi Rear Subframe TiC Diff mount bushings Whiteline Lateral Links Whiteline Roll center kit Whiteline Steering Rack Bushings STi Aluminum Control Arms Cobb 25mm Sway bars Kartboy Endlinks TiC Front and rear Trailing arm bushings STI struts/springs/tops (as of right now) Exterior: Ravspec Carbon Fiber front lip 2005 Forester Tail lights Interior: STI airbag Misc: McGaurd Lugnuts Lots of powder coating ![]() Last edited by Evil Imports; 02-03-2013 at 04:18 PM. |

Some block pics, block was already at the machine shop, was bored and honed with the torque plate, here is a few pics of me getting ready to gap the rings, will post more pics when i start assembling the block/motor

Parts that went to section 8 for powdercoating today, more will be done, but this is what i had ready (don't mind Kens intake manifold in there)

This morning i decided to fully disassemble my brembos to get them ready to goto powder coat next week, pulled out all the pistons and seals and whatever

Very cool! Looks well thought-out. My suggestions...if you are going to be keeping the STi struts/springs/tops for a while, a good-value upgrade are Prodrive or STi pink springs. Also, if it is anything like the Impreza, some chassis bracing can go a long way for better turn-in, especially when it comes to the front sub-frame area.

My wife is now contemplating selling the Trailblazer SS and keeping the '07 Outback that I was going to sell. Maybe I look into building a Outback STi?? Hmmmmm.....
