Default Help with my oil change interval

Hi Everyone,
I cannot seem to find the oil change interval for my "new to me" 2008 2.5I Outback. My manual says 3,750 miles for 3.0 and 3.6L engines, but I have a 2.5L. Should I go by the 3,750? My previous Subaru (01 OBS) had an interval of 5,500 miles.

Thanks in advance,
Steve,

I had the same question... Here are a couple resources I found to be I of some value---

http://www.checkyournumber.org/
(California based site on how long you can stretch your oil--- mine is about 7,000 mi on an 02 2.5 OBW)

http://www.edmunds.com/car-care/stop...-your-oil.html
(gives you the logic behind why you can go longer than manufacturer recommended intervals)

Of course, we should check our oil often and if it looks too funky and has been a long time since the last change--- might as well change it.

I generally change my oil roughly every 5,000 miles with full synthetic. But then again, my driving habits would be considered "extreme" having several short trips per day, every day, in more aggressive city driving.
