Default any 21 year olds with a 2011+ wrx or sti?

Hey all I'm not trying to make this into an insurance thread but jus curious as to anyone in the tri-state area have a newer model wrx or sti and what you pay and are you insured alone or under your parents?

I got quoted for 2943 a year for a 2013 wrx hatch under NJ Manufacturers under parents insurance.

I know many factors vary but anyone paying similar, more or less?

Looking to see what companies possibly offer better.

I'd greatly appreciate if anyone can throw in what they pay, under what company, and solo insured or under parents.

Thanks

Im 22 had an sti. When i was 20 Insured as my mom as the driver and i paid 3500 for the year with 21st century. putting me as the primary nearly doubled that.

honestly in jersey i dont think it get any cheaper than njm insurance.

Jive you were actually the person I was looking to hear from. I'm under moms but I'm the primary since njm is specific about that. I just I'll just have to deal

I am 21 with a 06 wrx. Under my parents insurance with me as primary, it cost 2400. We have NJM and they are awesome. Different car but figured I'd chime in.

Hey all i thanks for the responses thus far i jut called again because the guy i spoke to yesterday and sounded new because he was having a hard time with the VIN so when i called today, the woman i spoke to gave ma quote of 2463 which seems more reasonable. He must have given me a higher model or possible the cost for the STi who knows.

That's rediculous. I'm 23 and have a '06 GTO and '12 WRX, $1800 for the year.

With what company?

Well you probably get a multi-car discount and that two extra years experience.

Plus I backed into someone 2.5 years ago but only raised insurance 35 dollars.

I'm tapped out for now with discounts. I have defensive training and even though I have straight A's it won't affect it.

Plus I already pay ~1500 now for the Acura full coverage.

StateFarm since I was 16. At 18 under my parents plan, the GTO was $2200 a year. With the age of the car and my age, it was down to $1400ish at 21. When I went on my own insurance at 22, it was $2000 for my GTO and '05 Saabaru. Now since I use State Farm for my house too it's $1800 with the GTO an WRX.

It's because you have homeowners and multi-car that they cut you a break.

I'm going to check out State Farm down the block but being on my own would probably be more.

I just switched to Progressive because they were very good with discounts.

I called them up and there were a ton of negotiable options. Dropped me over $50 a month... although I went from an 04 wrx to a 99 n/a rs.

I'm a little older so I dunno if that helps but maybe try giving Flo a call!

I'm 18 and insured on my mom. She never drives so rates aren't... so bad. As far as the Insurance company is concerned, my mom owns and drives the car :P

See it would be cheaper if mom was the primary but the way NJM works is that since there are two drivers on the policy and two cars, there has to be a primary for each so she can't be the primary for both and have me drive as a secondary or else it would be cheaper.

It works for me though I'm graduating in May and assuming I find a job ~200 a month isn't all that bad for insurance. It'll eventually drop over time.

In the meantime I plan to look around to see if there are any better rates but i highly doubt anything is better than NJM. They're almost impossible to join in the first place.

It's a newer one? Also are you listed as the primary driver?
