Default P0502 while using cruise control.

Driving home the other night on the highway with cruise control set. Everything seemed fine then the car sort of jolted, which killed the cruise control and then check engine light came on. Drove to AutoZone, car drove fine no limp mode, pulled the code and came up with a P0502 Vehicle Speed Sensor 'A' Low Input. Had the code cleared, drove home, and a round town yesterday and the car still seems to drive OK and no check engine light although I haven't used the cruise control since. I have done some research on here and found similar stories but their cars pulled other codes along with the P0502 and theirs went into limp mode. So my question, has anyone else experienced this and what was their fix? Does it sound like my speed sensor is bad also even thought I had no other codes and no limp modes?

You won't really know until the code comes back again , you could get lucky and it was a one time weird thing that just happened. Or it could be a bad sensor, or something in the cruise control.

If it happens again under normal driving conditions, its not going to tell me if is the sensor or the cruise control....

No, but now you know it's something. Low voltage speed sensor error......sensor next.
