Default New Custom Painted Hella Horns

SOLD!!!

I painted these to match the trim on my car. Found out afterwards that they don't fit behind the grill of my Forester .

I sanded, primed, and did multiple coats of paint and then multiple coats of clear. I've become pretty good with a rattle can over the years from painting wheels and various other items. I bet if I didn't tell you I painted them myself you would think it was factory.

Looking for $40. Again these have never been used. Just removed from the box to be painted.

Really, the hellas don't fit behind the FXT grill?
Shoot, maybe I'll need to have a peek myself before I splurge on a set.

They definitely fit behind the grill of a 04 fxt.

Put more effort into it. It literally took 1 minute of figuring out where the horns were hitting the grill and grinding a little plastic down with a dremel to get them to work perfectly.

Also don't bother spending the money on one of those overpriced brackets.
I got a small section of din rail from a hardware store, painted it and used that to mount them. The other advantage of it is that it allows you to mount the horns farther apart so the car doesn't look cross-eyed.

Sorry for the confusion guys, but I am running an aftermarket grill. There isn't even an inch of clearance between the mesh and the condenser. Absolutely no way these horns are going to fit behind the grill the way I want them.

I should of checked before I put in all the effort of painting them .

Here's a pic of the grill.

Thanks! I thought the same too. But I made the grill myself and put a lot of man hours into cutting, bondoing, sanding, and painting. Don't feel like messing with the grill again to make the horns fit.

I almost did this as well, but the main reason I wanted them was for the look, not so much the sound. Now I'm going to use the 40 bucks toward some rally armor UR's and hood struts.
