Default Spencer's 2010 STi Hatch Project Thread :: High Res Photo Content ::

Hey everybody,

My name is Spencer Berke and I'm a full time automotive photographer for Lamborghini. I just turned 21 today (December 31st). Feel free to follow me on Instagram @ThatPhotographer I post daily!

This is my introduction/build thread. I have always wanted some kind of Subaru, but I was never able to financially afford one. I started off at 17 with a 1988 E30 325 that I put a ton of money into, which was an awesome car to drive.

After two years of driving that car, I turned 19 and I wanted a luxury car. I ended up buying a 2002 Lexus IS300, I tinted it out and made it my daily driver. Really nice car to drive, but not exciting... especially after driving a go cart manual gearbox e30.

After driving the Lexus for 1 year, I had managed to build enough credit to finally buy something fast and fun. I had intentions of picking up a Porsche of some sort (Cayman or used 991). Something under $50,000. I ended up driving around in CM and I saw a white STi sitting in the back parking lot of a dealership. I test drove the car and fell in love, the car already had coil overs, sway bars, mud flaps, intake, boost gauges and ton of other awesome things that I wanted, but didn't want to have to spend my own money to get it.

I ended up closing the deal the next morning, and drove away with my 2010 STi, which was a present to myself for turning 21. I worked very hard to get the car and it's definitely paying off.

I drove the car for a few days and then I went to San Diego to get a few things installed. The previous owner contacted me and had some parts for sale, he was seriously one of the coolest guys that I've ever met and he knew his stuff. He had exhaust, turbo timer, and a few other things I wanted to buy. I wanted loud, so I went with a Greddy Ti-C and Catless Invidia Downpipe.

After dropping the car off at HGMS in San Diego, I waited about 6 hours and the install + Stage two tune was done. I want to thank Chris at HGMS for doing the tune and install, he gave me my keys the day of and said "Let's go for a drive". I started the car and it sounded scarier than hell, DEEP rumble. I drove it around the block, and after it warmed up we did some pulls.

I couldn't believe how different the car ran, it felt like it gained 3 million horsepower. The car screamed through all the gears, I thanked Chris and took off. After driving the car for a few hours, I couldn't wipe the smile off my face. I was visiting my mother for the weekend and I had to take her out in it, so I did some 1st-4th pulls.... I just wish I had a go pro camera hahaha. She had no idea that a hatchback could be that fast.

So on with the mods and pictures.

AEM Intake
DC Sports Equal Length Headers
Invidia Catless Downpipe
Greddy Ti-C Exhaust
Cobb Stage Two Tune at 16PSI
ISC Coilovers
Whiteline Swaybars
Rally Armor mudflaps
ARP Carbon Fiber front lip
AEM boost + oil pressure gauges
ATI Gauge cluster holder for boost & oil pressure
Nitto Tires
Cobb Short Shifter
Carbon Fiber side STi badges
Hardwired V1
And probably a few more things I'm forgetting...

I haven't had a chance to really shoot my car when it's clean, but I pulled it around back at my work and snapped a few photos while it was sorta... clean. If anybody is in OC that wants photos let me know! I'd love to meet some people and shoot some Subis.

Thanks everybody! I appreciate it a lot, it feels good to have a nice fun and fast car. I'll be posting a lot on here, seems like it's super active and has a lot of good valuable information.

Any good meets in OC?

Hahaha, I know. I bought it like that, I need to buy some new filmssss!!

But thanks, I've worked very hard to get where I am today. Instead of partying at night I was editing pics and booking shoots, eventually turned it into a full time job with high end companies like Lamborghini, Bugatti etc...

Hahaha, oh man... I did so much to it. Here's a basic picture from start to finish.

(I flipped the photo, hence the steering wheel on the wrong side lol).

wow!!!!!!!!! i loveeeeee itttttttttt. i actually wanted a lexus is300 before cause i come from an all lexus family but i ended up with my 2008 4eat (which isnt bad, i do drive stick as a porter for exotic motors) WRX for nearly 2 yrs now. only 19, nearly twenty. I got mine for 16k, worked my ass off to pay it off. 82 hours/week in the summers and 40 hours + college 18 Credit hours. totally worth it. Your car will hopefully be my next one. I always wanted a white on gold and yours is beautifully done!
