Default looking for video of sti with just cobb SF intake and SS downpipe

Im looking for video or sound clip of and 08+ sti with just the Cobb SF intake and the Cobb SS downpipe. I am still up in the air about getting an for my tune next week and would love to just hear the two of these parts. And possibly anyone that knows the gain differences between adding an exhaust to the tune or not.

Thanks!

Ty

Videos don't do justice for how the intake actually sounds. As for the DP, the sound difference between Cobb and any other DP is miniscule. Are you wanting to hear what a 3" DP sounds like with a stock catback? Or a full TBE? If you check out my YouTube channel

I have clips of my car and how it sounds.
In this video, you can really hear the BPV coming through the intake after I let off the throttle at the end of the run: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LIhc...e_gdata_player

I love the sound of the intake. It has been sitting on my shelf for 2 months and its finally going in with the cobb dp.. But no one seems to have a video of the intake and just the DP. everyone has an exhaust as well.

Xluben has a very well known build thread. This guy has gone through something like a dozen different exhausts. This video is just a DP and a stock catback (along with his other mods) on a WRX hatchback: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rzRL...e_gdata_player

By 'just a downpipe' are you saying nothing else? No cat back, no muffler, just a open pipe?

I don't have a video, but currently my only mods are AP/ Cobb SF, and Cobb DP. Also its a WRX not an sti, but shouldn't change the sound to much(if any). I can tell you the intake is considered 'loud' as in you can hear it, but it sounds great not overly invasive but still there, mainly you just hear a whistle and the bov. With a stock exhaust and a DP, you can't tell a difference in sound unless you are driving around without the radio on, in which case it is a very quiet gurgle, but you really have to be paying attention to notice it to much. Hope that helps you some.

Kinda in the same boat but was wondering what kind if power you noticed with just the DP mated to the stock exhaust. Also, what AP tune did you use with that setup?

Standard AP Stage 2 + SF intake tune. I noticed a difference in power, but my butt dyno may vary from yours. My shop was telling me I am prolly around ~260 hp to the wheels, and will be close to ~270-275ish after i get the cat-back done (he was going off what he has seen on his mustang dyno on similar set-ups). I dont plan on getting a pro-tune until at least after the catback, and maybe an up-pipe is installed.

Im getting a protune done and not going the route of getting an AP. Also with the stock turbo, the only thing you are really going to get when you add an exhaust after replacing a dp is sound. The power difference though should be very noticable from stock to stage 2. From talking with tuners though and looking at dyno runs, it looks like a stage 2 setup with the AP should get you roughly around 300awhp with your sti.

Fotown that does help! Still hoping to find an audio clip or video though because im very impatient!

OP, you're sweating this far too much. You're going to put the intake in, install the DP, get your protune and you're going to love the result. Just enjoy the car once everything is done.

^Depends on the dyno.
Also, i have had just a DP with stock catback. There is no difference in sound at all, the only difference is smell.
