I guess this is the right place for this?
Anyway, went with The Drivers Edge out to COTA last weekend. SO INCREDIBLE! The track flow is amazing, just so many fantastic sections! Also lots of Subies representing! Twas majical, accept that time I over-boosted going 125 down the back straight, lol. Here is some fottage presented in GoPro Noob Tall Screen! Also I replaced the wind noise with Copywriten music so who knows how long it will last .http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=daRiF_rrpLc&feature=youtu.be |

Nice! I've been wanting to do a driver's edge track day. Looks like an awesome track. I hope they have more hpde's there.

They really are fantastic, good value too, 2 days for ~$300. You should come to MSR with us some time.

I definitely plan to to do some track days this year! My Dunlop Direzza Z2 tires should be here in about a week! Finally no more crappy stock tires!

Nice! Yeah excited for the Z2s as well, will be interesting to see how they do. If going to a track day I recommend some serious business pads, and fluid. Also get an oil change with the Motul 8100 X-cess 5W40.
I was seeing Oil temps of 280 F which is way to high. So may want to sit it out in the Summer. |

If you were writing copy, it would work that way...

Only $300 for 2 days at COTA?! Holy shiznit!
I was there back in December for a Cadillac V-Series Driving Lab, got to do a half dozen laps in a CTS-V coupe and wagon. Even based on that brief sample of the track I agree with you - the track is awesome. My brother and his wife are moving down to San Antonio later this year, assuming COTA continues to do club HPDEs I'll probably have to make my way down there to do an event with him at some point. I had to mute your audio. I would rather listen to the GoPro's horrible wind noise than random music. ![]() |

Awesome! You should have GoPro'd it but oh well.
![]() For some reason I was thinking it MUCH more expensive to get on this track and that they had decided to limit access to only certain groups they considered to be more "elite". Did they back down on that? I would almost consider taking a road trip down there to run this track at that rate. For ****s and giggles I looked at The Drivers Edge's 2013 schedule and I don't see COTA on there any time soon. |

GoPro footage in the link on the first post fast forward halfway through for car chase action. It was pretty expensive, more than twice as much since it was $375 per day instead of for 2 days. Hopefully the price will drop a bit in the future. They did limit who could sign up, it was basically solo approved drivers only since the track is pretty fast, and there weren't enough instructors to assign one to everyone. Also I think it was a thank you for their regulars. That said it seemed like quite a few ppl got in, and I myself was pretty borderline. |

$375 per day still seems like a good deal for it being COTA, especially when you consider their private track rental cost is $50k per day with a limit of 24 people. They must offer pretty nice rates to racing clubs. I would have guessed the rate to be higher than you paid. |

LOL - I skimmed it and then clicked the video. I got a little excited when I read "COTA" and saw there was video. I missed the word "GoPro". Now I'm simply curious how you record "tall" video on a GoPro. I've never seen video like this from anything but a cell phone held vertical.

At that price it's cheaper too go club racing. The SCCA National Super Tour is $650 for the weeeknd at COTA.

I think you were speaking somewhat in jest, but you're ignoring that tiny little issue of needing a fully prepped race car to go SCCA club racing. I'm pretty sure it takes more than the $100 difference to make a race car.
