Lately I have seen a lot of 2011+ WRX/STi for sale. Why buy one when your gonna sell it so soon? Payments? Insurance? ???????????

the investment in the money just makes it not feasible to have buyers remorse.

People that don't know much buy them slap on a Dp and intake without a tune and hurt the motor and then sell them cause they can't afford a new shortblock

honestly for me, it was dealership. on the island i live on we dont have an official subaru dealer, only an authorized dealer, which is actually a mazda dealership. when they are not up to date with their subaru vehicles, it made it kinda sketch. the tip of the iceberg was when they wouldnt even cover the battery, which on 2011 wrx with less than 5k miles, i would expect it to be covered. i love subaru, but if not even a battery, what else if it was more severe?

Now I'll give you my real life story... I bought a 2011 base WRX hatch, then the tsunami happened. Long story short...I was able to trade it in 6 months later, with 8k miles, for $500 less than I paid. For me, at the time, it felt way to similar to me 2005 I had before. So yea, that's one of the reasons I did |

Some people are in jobs where they drive all the time. I had my Legacy GT for a bit over 3 years and sold it with 91k miles on it.

I make in the upper $30k/year and my car payment is indeed $500/month but I'm not struggling. I'm not loaded obviously but I'm not hurting. I do work a **** load of overtime though. I have a good job that's not going anywhere and this is the car I have always wanted and I got it.I just graduated college and got a full-time job, this was my reward to myself and I'm making it work. And I do not plan trading it in any time soon.

You've gotta define decent though. Say you buy a limited and put down about $10k, you're still financing $20k which is going to be $358 per month at Subarus 2.9%. But $10k is probably higher than what most would consider to be a decent down payment.

People gets influenced by different factors around them which makes them think that they have to follow the next best thing out there in the market. As long as something new feature comes up with the next model people will go for that just to claim that they have the latest and most upgraded cars that's around in that particular year.

I pay $210 biweekly on my '08 WRX simply because I put $0 down. The reason? I can withdraw my stock options from my work in 2 years and pay off the entire rest of the principle in one go, thereby saving interest.

This is America. We've grown up to have the mentality of instant gratification.
When we want something, we buy out of impulse without thinking. ![]() Last edited by Smoke; 01-26-2013 at 10:08 PM. |

I think it has to do with the younger generations trying to buy a car they can't afford; nonetheless, pay insurance and gas for it.
