08 2.5i lightweight crank pulley

I was wondering if it was alright to install a light weight crank pulley on my 08 2.5i hatch? Am I gona need a special tool to get the old pulley off?

I don't think you'll need a special tool, a few of my friends have them and have mixed feelings, the rpms drop a lot faster with a light weight it seems like

No special tool needed, just a big breaker bar and someone holding the brakes.

Break crank nut loose
Loosen alt and ac tensioners
Remove belts
Remove stock pulley by wiggling
Replace with LW pulley
Replace belts
Retension belts
Torque crank nut to 132 ft/lbs

No special tools needed, and you honestly dont need another person to hold the brakes. I just put it in 5th and jammed a 2x4 on the brake when I did mine. the breaker bar is an ABSOLUTE must though!

it's a stretch fit ac belt on the 08+ so no tensioner. i got my crank pulley off without putting anything to hold the brakes, just had it in 3rd gear with a long breaker bar

Which pully did you use? I'm planning to put one in when I do my timing belt kit and head gaskets in a few months. I have been looking at grimmspeed and perrin.

I just took my pulley off to do my timing belt. Might consider getting an lwp down the road
