To determine if you are running rich you should get it scanned with a tactrix cable. Your A/F learnings will show with learningview.exe , if they are maxing at 15+ or - then you have a problem with your air/fueling system. My guess is that there is an excessive vacumm leak that is maxing out your A/F compensation at 15, and making you run rich. This could explain the destroyed cat.

So find some one with a Tactrix cable and a laptop already with Learning view and Rom Raider.

Local sub forums may come in handy. Offer beer for service.

I need some help too. I just moved from CO to CA, and I am now passing the emissions side of the test, but failing the visual test. Do I need OEM parts on my exhaust to pass the visual? I have a 2007 STi, with an Invidia N1 Cat Back Exhaust and Invidia Downpipe Catted. Originally I pretty much just had straight pipes to the muffler from the turbo and was failing the HC emissions side at idle, but with no cats and pass the visual.... I got the new exhaust, installed it, and now they say I am missing the rear cat and failing visual...

Any suggestions? or places to take it in San Luis Obispo?

I got the car used and it no longer had the stock dp. All the cats were cut out and a pipe was welded in place of the cats.

Any one have a downpipe I could borrow ?

I do if you are near sac or wanna come pick it up. Also have a good smog place up here that doesn't look to far in. You will need all the basics, but I covered up a gimmick turbo inlet with a hose clamp in the right spot haha

I just moved here. I'm guessing "sac" is Sacramento. I live in San Luis obispo... so that's quite a drive.

BAIC is aimed more for Bay Area and more northern CA. Maybe ask around on the SCIC forum. There might be more people close to you.

I have one off of my 2009 in Berkeley you can def borrow doubt it likely won't not fit... but I think the vacuum lines are the issue with that error code. You can also got to a test and repair facility?

You could bring it to EQ tuning in fairfield if you still havent figured it out im pretty sure they could diagnose it, and theres also a smog shop literally 50 ft from EQ.
