Default p0171 after tomei uel install

So I installed my new tomei uel on my 04 Wrx, ej205. Now I have a code p0171 system lean bank 1, anyone else experience this? I'm currently on the Cobb ots vf39 map with my 18g turbo. I have the wg arm not hooked up so I don't go into any boost, my tune is in 2 weeks. Can't seem to find the problem

my guess would be that the tune isnt designed for the header you are running

I was thinkin that too however i had no codes when I had that el header on and that header completely changed the position of the o2 sensor. This uel tomei header uses the stock location for the o2

I mean it could still be the tune but I feel like if that was the case more people would have experienced and when I researched it didn't seem like anyone else had the same problem

OK....i have seen things like this happen after header installs....and it seems that the oils used in manufacturing the header burn when the pipe is installed and foul the front o2 sensor

which is why it is wise to wash out ANY new header out with gas or carb cleaner or whatever...and let it dry...before ya install it

Yeah I did the same when I polished my stock headers. It fouled my O2 sensor. Gave me weird readings then went back to regular

Damn that makes perfect sense. I literally just put a new o2 sensor in you think it will be good? I'm not convinced its the tune bc if that was the case there would be tons of people that have experienced it

Well boys sure enough it was the o2 sensor. Can't really be too mad about it since it should be replaced before the tune anyway. Thanks guys

That's just bc it's not in the owners manual as a possible problem so to people who know nothing there's no way that could be the problem
