I got a set of injectors with out any kind of rings or O-rings. and to add to it, one of them is missing the O-ring retainer ring at the top of the injector. Now correct if im wrong but my understanding of the injector rings are as follows: from top to bottom, retainer ring, O-ring, injector ring, injector grommet/ring.
If anyone has any insight on this please help me out, my questions are as follows: 1. Can I still run the injector with just the O-ring and injector rings or would it leak with out the O-ring retainer ring? 2. are the rings made of rubber or hard plastic? the ones on my blue injectors crumble to pieces when I tried to remove them to use on the pinks. 3. will the DW injector rings kit work for STi pinks? |

Thank you sir. My big concern is the one injector missing the top retaining ring. Its the skinny plastic ring above the o-ring. Im not sure if i can get a replacement and if no, can i run the injectors with out them as they seem to serve no sealing purpose and are only there to retain the o-ring?

i believe you are talking about the molding of the injector holding the o-ring. Has your molding cracked off? The larger rubber piece is just a dust seal.

If you need fuel injector orings, go to your local autoparts store and ask for a fuel injector oring kit for a 97 Toyota Camry 2.2L DOHC 4cyl. The kit comes with all the orings you need for the top feed style injector. I had to replace an oring on my top feed blues and the Toyota kit worked perfectly. I did this back in 2008 and everything has been leak free since then.

Yes you can run the injector without the top molded oring retainer, the oring does all the sealing.
