Default Motor mounts wont line up

Took out my motor in my 05 wrx for a spun bearing. Left the Trans in... Got a new motor back together and in. All bolted to the Trans, but the motor mount studs are about an inch too far forward of the holes.

It was a complete bitch to separate the 2 originally... Looked under the Trans and saw I ripped the rubber off the metal on the bottom mount. Took all the crossmembers off thinking that would let the assembly back far enough to line up the motor mounts. But it's a no go.

This is my first subaru, I'm used to small block olds cars.... Putting this thing together has me ready to kill someone.. Please. Help.

Do you have the pitch stop installed? If so, remove it, get the motor mounts in, then reinstall the pitch stop mount.
