Removing the front stub from the passenger axle I noticed that two chunks of the transmission broke out. Fearing the worst when I dropped the transmission out of the car I noticed that these areas are thinner than the drivers side. I'm curious, did I do any serious damage, it looks to me as if this area is just part of the casting and only serves to keep dust and rocks out of the axle seal area. I was debating on welding some aluminum back onto the area then hand grinding the area uniform, but I don't think that's necessary.
