Don't like your daylight runtime lights?

Don't like your daylight runtime lights? They annoyed me when I bought the car, so I made sure that was the first thing I got rid of. It's quite easy to do for anyone else that wants to get rid of them. If you look near the turbo, just infront and to the left of it, there is a square silver part that says "CAUTION HIGH TEMP" on it. On the bottom of that part there is a connection. Simply unplug that, and walla...no more daylight runtime lights

I went as far as taking the part off. It can be easily dont with 2 small bolts that hold it in place. Then I just took the wire that got unplugged from it and zip tied it to another wire. Any questions?

Well, congratulations on doing this mod, but be assured it's not breaking news on here

There are many threads and links to instructions on disabling the DRL's. And FYI, the part you disconnected/removed is not the main module but rather just a load resistor. In DRL mode the low beams are connected to ground through this resistor so they operate at reduced intensity. As long as you have the stock headlights this is all you need to disconnect to eliminate the DRL operation.
There is also another module, located next to the glovebox in the passenger side kick panel, that is the actual DRL control unit. If you ever install HID lights this module will need to be disconnected as well.
