Post Tires for rallycross...

Guys, this is what I got. $63 a tire isn't bad and they look like they'll do well in the dirt. They are incredible on snow and ice. I've only gotten to play around on a dirt road once and it was hardpack, so I couldn't tell too much.

You can get these with new steel wheels for $480 to your door. Hard to beat that...

Eric,

Check out my post in tires rims...etc about a tire I read about on the internet. Let me know what you think.

Also, anyone know how easy it is to find 15" steelies around Denver that fit our cars? And, about how much should they cost?

I couldn't get that cooper link to work. I check their page but didn't see anything about a "weathermaster" tire. I don't think you can go wrong for your first season with any winter tire. I'm sure they'll all work fine. That was what was recommended to me when I was asking around.

I got my steels from Tire Rack, follow this link:
http://www.tirerack.com/winter/index.jsp

You can get new 15's for $38 a piece. I'm sure you can find them in a junkyard for cheaper, but at least you know the new ones aren't already bent. Tire Rack supplies you with the different lug nuts that you'll need also.

If you want something locally, check out Performance Wheel and Tire. They're located in the SE corner of Hampden and Santa Fe. They have just about everything. I just picked up some Mazda wheels there for the TypeR. They have a huge inventory.

On the coopertires.com site you go and click on tires (in the banner), then cooper (under tire brands), then on passenger tires. Then the weathermaster s/t is near the bottom right of the page. (sorry, I'm not good with pastin links or pics)
I know with other rims we have to be careful because of the 'subaru offset factor.' If I'm planning on 195/65/15s do I have to get a rim specific to subaru or will any 15" do?
Thanks for the help.

Ah, ok got it. Those don't look bad at all. I'm sure they are comparable to the Dunlop Graspic HS-1's that I got. Both are really winter tires.

I'm sure you could find a steel wheel that fits, but to be safe I'd just make sure you got a Subaru set.

I'd go with the Tire Rack deal... That way you'll get everything you need from one place and you'll know the wheels fit.

Here's the Performance Wheel website...
www.performancewheel.com Give them a call about Subaru steels.
