my brake lights went out

alright the brake lights on my RS are not working at all. are there any fuses associated with the system? i've checked the bulbs and they are all fine. they only other element i can see if the microswitch connected to the brake pedal, but i dont know how this works exactly. has anyone had this problem? i need to get this fixed because i can't drive with no brake lights.

First thing I would check is all the fuses, or look in your owners manual and see what fuse is for the brake lights.

If the fuse is good I would check for power at the brake light switch, depress the brake pedel and make sure you are getting power out of the switch as well.

im guessing you are out of warranty?

yeah i'm out of warranty. i don't think the manual goes into detail as to fuses and such. also does anyone have the schematic for the brake light switch?

look at the manual again. it should indicate in there somewhere which fuse is for the brake lights, corner lights, etc. It's usually pretty easy to figure out which is which. it might even be as simple as looking at the fuse boxes - it might be readily identifiable there too.

problem fixed. it was a fuse.
