Default Flowpath for the IC

I was wondering what the flowpath of the by-pass air from the IC is. Am I going to have rain/grime/snow/small children/birds/mailboxes running down the back of the engine? Is there a shroud or something under the IC to divert all this past the engine to under the car?

Good question. I'd like to know too. I am sure it will be like the current WRX, but I don't have one so I wouldn't know.

It just runs down the bellhousing tranny to the ground.

The STi has a longer undertray but still doesn't go back that far.

The engine is open to the outside of the car regardless if there is a hood scoop or not. So it hardly matters unless the new opening provides an access route for water to a previously protected area where electrical connections are and are not sealed in modern connectors. On a WRX the battery is the only thing really left unless you some how manage to get water into the Underside of the fuse box
