225/50/16 Khumo MX's on 16"x7" Steel Grey Rota Slipstreams

Yes, they fit. Yes, I had to roll the fenders today (ghetto method, I didnt give a damn about the paint, my paint is already crap) And yes, they are UNBELIEVABLY sticky!!!

Here are some pics: http://community.webshots.com/album/70429949mJoXEZ

Looks great! I'd love to have a set of those for auto-x.

So tell me this. Did you buy them as a package, or did you get the wheels & tires seperate?

Looks great. I bet the grip is quite nice. I like your car & the Legacy I say in one of the pics too.

Did you by chance weigh this combo on an accurate scale?

Thanks - Jon

j/k Looking good, Kosta. Hope to see em in person sometime. It's about time you got those tires mounted! I just might have to get a set of the MXes for my stockers some time soon. Take it easy.

Man you got some meaty tires on your car. They make my 205/45/16's look tiny.

Got the wheels from Autoinnovations and the tires from AmericanTireCo.
The legacy is my moms car Yes, my mom likes cars too
And no, I didnt get to weigh the combo, but I did weigh the rim and it was 13.5lbs, and the tire I think is around 25lbs, but I dont know for sure unless someone can find the stats... I know they weigh about 5lbs less each than my old 17's with 205/45/17 Khumo 712's and I can feel it.

I did some research yesterday & found weights & 25 lbs is right for a 225/50-16 MX. I did some comparison shopping, weights, & pricing on Toyo T1-S, Kumho MX, & Falken Azenis in 16" sizes.
I put it all in a spread sheet with various sizes available for each tire, their load capacities & gearing effects on the car. I really want to splurge & get the Toyo T1-s's (they have the perfect size to give me the gearing I want), but the Kumho's & Falkens are so cheap it's hard to justify. Plus I want to lower my gearing So Falken & Toyo are my only options, but then you get in to max load issues & well... Anyway I'm glad I spent the time.

Good choice... PM me if you could on what you paid for the wheels I will be looking to get some soon & I'm hoping to get a better price than $450 + shipping, if possible. I've seen some GB's for other cars in the same size in the mid to upper 300 range of prices.

Thanks - Jon

Thumbs up

Wow, I really like the look of the early, simple Impreza--no scoops, vents or wings, just one of the best proportioned small coupes around. And the meaty tires look great on it! I just couldn't get used to the look of 17" Rotas on mine, so I went back to the stock wheels. Subaru really got the proportions right on the early cars. I guess all those designers were tied up in the basement when they did the WRX.

I was originally going to pay 500+ shipping but Autoinnovations had them locally for like 470 or so without shipping, so I made out pretty well
