Default 02 to 04 Body conversion?

strange idea: the 2004 WRX looks like a 02-03 WRX with a different front end (different hood, grill, lights, bumper, and quarter panels). is that all there is to it? would 04 body panels fit on a 02 or 03? i am just wondering because if i ever wrecked the car it might be an opportunity to ditch the goofy bug-eye look for something a bit more stylish. anyone tried this conversion?

there is a million more stuff u need...it'll cost well over $3000 in parts, and another $1000 just to install since the radiator suppot needs to be changed

I'd also like to know if its been done...I've played with the idea before. My radiator panels and front work are crushed up from a prior shunt anyway..to bad my fenders and hood aren't damaged tho (knock on wood) otherwise I'd consider it more seriously.

Well most of the info can be provided by any bodyshop. It’s basically just replacing all the parts that are from a 04, but make sure all the clips, and brackets are from the car as well….so that means just getting a 04 clip and swapping out all the parts. Drilling and welding is needed for the radiator support.

Just found out...if done correctly, and professionally, the parts alone will cost upwards of $3500...in OE parts. The labor and installation to be done properly (like OE) will be upwards of $3000. So adding it up...I should of just traded in my 03 for a 04....but then again...I still have a MBP scooby...i like blue.

So, basically, what you're saying is its not as easy as putting 04 fenders, hood, headlights, and bumper on an 02-03

Nope. It's more like a Integra type r conversion...u need the core support, and lots of welding, and brackets that have been changed.
