Default Have you read today's San Bruno/Redwood City Daily Journal???

Well my dad knows that I'm an Sti fanatic so he called me over to read a review (from today's article, Friday Aug. 22, 2003) that some one did for the Daily Journal. The author of the article probably didn't know much about rally cars/race cars so the article was not biased. It sounded like she was comparing the STi to a Mercedes S500. She kept on repeating the fact that there's no stereo or floor mats. I mean who needs a radio if you've got an engine sounds just as good as a radio (at least I think so).

Here's something that she said: "And I found it sort of amusing that a race-inspired car would use pink to highlight its STi badging..." AND... "Consumer Reports does not list a reliability report on the low-volume STi." I can't beliece she said "low-volume." That just made me MAD

Is the STi seriously 3,263 lbs.? That sounds like a lot for a rally inspried car...

You know what's funny though. The picture that they put in with the article is of the 2002-2003 body style.

Nevermind what people have to said about STi; it will still be ass-kicking here in da United States.

"Low-volume" means that not many are going to be made each year and she's probably gonna be right about that.

Yah, she said low volume, becuase it is low volume, I think 5000 a year as comapred to the 18000 WRX's imported in 2002 model year.

I thought that "low-volume" meant something about the quantity of STi's that are going to be produced, but I guess i didn't like the rest of the article so i miss-took it. Mah bad.

Sorry, I'm not sure about the contact info.

You also have to remember that she is writing this for the public, not the subaru enthusiat community. While we might not care about the lack of a radio, most of the public will and you should eb happy she is compaing it to a S500, thats an $80,000 car while the STi is only $32,000.

True true, but ever since my dad read that article he's been iffy about letting me get a WRX...

BTW...I said that it sounded like she was comparing it to the s500, not that she actually was comparing them.

If he is iffy about it, point out its safety rating and other such things.

Is your dad concerned about getting you a WRX or an STi? The two cars are rather different creatures. Allbeit the STi has no floor mats or stereo, that's a good thing and bad thing. I spent 10 bucks to get floor mats and I'm taking my sweet ass time getting my stereo put together. All though it's lonely and quiet inside the cabin, the drive is the best ever. Not a dull moment when I'm driving my STi. As for the WRX, it comes with a so-so stereo and the floormats are pretty tight. Any how, regardless of whichever one you pick, both of them are great automobiles.
