The day after I got my '00 Legacy home one of my neighbors in my apartment complex provided me with a very generous dent in my passenger side with his door.
the next day another neighbor added symmetry by putting one on the driver side. A month later, the grounds keepers gave me a nice scratch on the driver side rear door with his lawn mower. Now I park away from EVERYTHING. No keys yet tho. |

Havent been keyed yet. Had pudding thrown at my car though. And to get it out try rubbing compound. That worked for some scraches on mine.

Yep pudding. I was ticking this guy off by going slow over speed bumps and when he tried to pass on wrong side of the road I spead up and his pasenger desided to throw it at my car. I was not happy. But it came off.
Oh yea WHOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHH 555 scoobie specialist now. Horray. [This message has been edited by Lord-Atak (edited February 18, 2001).] |

I don't remember the exact date, but it was within two weeks after bringing home the car. A large scratch across the trunk too.

Why must people find it nessicary to deface other peoples stuff? Is ti because I have it and you don't... do you just not like me... or do you just not like the car? I don't own a Scoob(yet) but my truck would seem to be a prime target. S10, lowered, big wheels, shiny paint... no key marks yet, finished it almost 2 years ago. There is a nice big dent on my roof that I can't explain though, wish I knew where that came from. Anyway... why do people pick on certin cars? Are Scoobs just a prime target or is it more the person who owns it and drives it? I'm writing this because I too am from the Detroit area and am slightly concerned when I hear of keyings.

Another few weeks and I'll have made it a year without any keys.
Sorry to hear about your keying though... hopefully it's not deep. |

Over a year now and luckily no keys have touched it (or at least they didn't damage it if they did.)

bought my car june 30th 1999, july 5th 1999 it was keyed from thh front bumper to the rear bumper and then back, in my own apartment building. no one had even seen the car yet until that night since i went out of town with it the day after i bought it. costed the insurance company like $1900 to repaint the drivers side. then last october it was keyed again in the parking lot of a really nice restaurant. unfortunatley it turned out to be homecomiing and the place was full of high school kids. havent got that one fixed yet, figured id wait till after winter to do that one.

My dub had the windshield cracked on Day 3 of ownership back in '96. A nice nickel sized star shapped chip/crack caused by a rock. They were resurfacing Lake Shore Drive at the time.
![]() Jetta's run a low profile, I've never been keyed. Thank God. |

I don't want to talk about it. But it did take about 6 hours of buffing with a mild car wax (read Mothers) to get it out.

50 in a 60? I'd flash you (lights) for that!
Anyway, heres a tip: Get a Car Cover if you live in a apartment complex. A cheap one preferably, and tie it with a lock ![]() |

Here is another interesting question: why people put useless garbage in their garage while parking their expensive cars outside?
